Puddle Jumper Pro

The Puddle Jumper Pro is an evolved version of the popular PJHP, developed in response to a challenge from Lost’s California sales rep and former World Tour surfer Nate Yeomans, alongside General Manager Ben Kelley. Both riders sought to create a board that maintained the original’s effortless “skate” and speed, while offering more shortboard-like performance and control, especially as a quad fin setup.

Starting from the 5’6” PJHP, the Puddle Jumper Pro stretches to 5’8”, narrows to 19.50” in width, and features a pulled-in nose and tail. The nose rocker is increased to improve wave entry and responsiveness, while retaining the signature exaggerated low tail rocker and deep single-to-double concave vee tail bottom that delivers horsepower and precise control.

Pros:

* Fast and forgiving with a smooth, skatey feel underfoot.
* Excellent drive and quick responsiveness for tighter carves and snaps.
* The pulled-in nose enhances maneuverability without sacrificing paddle power.
* Deep concave and vee tail provide control at speed and in critical sections.
* Versatile performance suitable for a variety of wave conditions.

Cons:

* Narrower dimensions may feel less stable for surfers used to wider, high-volume boards.
* More performance-oriented rocker could be less forgiving in very small or mushy waves.
* Not as ideal for beginners or those seeking maximum paddle ease.

Summary:
The Puddle Jumper Pro strikes a balance between the original’s playful, fast skate and the performance demands of a modern shortboard. It offers surfers a versatile, quick-turning board that excels in small to medium waves, providing both drive and control for more critical maneuvers. Ideal for intermediate to advanced riders looking to upgrade from a classic Puddle Jumper shape into a more refined, performance-oriented quad.
