Psycho Killer

WATCH NOEL SALAS' REVIEW >

The Psycho Killer is a refined, high-energy extension of the best-selling Quiver Killer, taking the same all-conditions utility and injecting it with a bit more bite, flair, and versatility. Developed to push the limits of what a hybrid can do, the Psycho Killer blends user-friendly volume and speed with precision rail-to-rail performance, making it one of the most balanced options in the “Killer Series.”

At its core, the Psycho Killer features a revamped outline with a double bump swallow tail that adds looseness and "pop" in smaller waves while maintaining hold and control in overhead or hollow surf. A new two-stage deck line hides volume through the centerline for paddle power and drive, while keeping the rails foiled and responsive. The deep double concave through the tail enhances lift and squirt under the back foot — and for surfers who want even more spice, it’s available with optional R-4 channels.

The result is a board that does what the Quiver Killer does — but louder, faster, and just a little more unhinged.

KEY FEATURES

Refined outline with double bump swallow tail: Loosens the board in small waves while improving hold and release in powerful conditions.
Hidden Volume” deck line: Packs foam under the chest for paddle strength but keeps rails crisp and responsive.
Deep double concave tail: Boosts drive, lift, and maneuverability.
Optional R-4 Channels: Add grip and speed in critical sections.

Pros:

* Versatile enough for small, average, and solid surf — a true all-terrain board.
* Easier wave entry and down-the-line speed thanks to smart volume distribution.
* Swallow tail adds extra flair for small wave surfing while still biting in tubes.
* Ideal for surfers wanting a more performance-focused hybrid.
* Rides lively and fast, but stays grounded in control.

 Cons:

* More performance-minded than the original Quiver Killer — may be too sensitive for pure beginners.
* Swallow tail offers less release than a squash in some conditions.
* Optional channels can add complexity to the ride for less experienced surfers.

Summary:

The Psycho Killer is the Quiver Killer’s more aggressive, performance-tuned sibling. It keeps the user-friendly paddling and versatility of the original but introduces a sharper rail game, a looser tail, and more bite when the surf demands it. Ideal for intermediate-to-advanced surfers who want a board that can groove in waist-high beachies or charge down the line in head-high reef breaks — with a little psycho energy in every turn.
