REVIEW WITH ALANA & COREY LOPEZ >
The high-water mark of modern performance shortboards.
The DRIVER 3.0 is the evolution of Lost’s most refined high-performance shortboard lineage, built in direct collaboration with a powerhouse team of elite-level surfers. What started as a subtle reworking of the DRIVER 2.0 has now emerged as its own beast—a faster, tighter, and more reactive board designed to meet the demands of world-class competition.
First unveiled in Stab in the Dark 2022 (ridden by Jack Robinson) and later fine-tuned for Griffin Colapinto’s WCT wins in Portugal and El Salvador, the DRIVER 3.0 has been vetted and validated at the highest levels. It’s built for surfers who want razor-sharp precision, speed on demand, and confident control in the pocket.
Notable changes from the 2.0 include increased tail rocker, a deeper concave through the back half, and a narrower hip for more grip between the feet. The scooped deck and low boxy rails engage quickly and give bite through critical turns. The round tail provides enough hold under pressure while staying loose and forgiving.
To offset the added rocker and concave, Lost added forward volume and thickness along the stringer, giving extra paddle power and drive off the front footmaking it slightly more forgiving for advanced surfers who aren't quite CT-level, but still rip.
Pros:
*Elite-level performance designed and proven on the WSL stage
*Deeper concaves and added rocker make it extremely fast and maneuverable
*Responsive in tight pockets ideal for high-speed, high-impact surfing
*Improved front-foot drive makes it surprisingly user-friendly for a high-performance board
*More generous volumes allow more surfers to tap into pro-level designCons:
*Not ideal for beginners or intermediates requires skill and timing
*Thrives in quality waves may feel overbuilt in mushy, weak surf
*Takes commitment to unlock its full potential especially with timing on steep drops or transitionsSummary:
The DRIVER 3.0 Round is the current benchmark in Lost’s high-performance line. Designed through real-world feedback from surfers like Griffin Colapinto, Kolohe Andino, and Yago Dora, it’s the board you reach for when conditions are on, and you want to surf your absolute best. With subtle forward volume and refined tail geometry, it balances the unforgiving edge of pro-level design with just enough accessibility for advanced everyday surfers. If you’re looking to surf like the CT guys—or at least ride what they’re riding—this is it.
