Zip

The ZIP is a retro-fueled small wave board born from Xanadu’s 1980s design ethos, merged with the performance tweaks of today’s small-wave revolution. Designed to fly down the line and bring style to every session, the ZIP is a wave-catching machine that rewards creative, flowy surfing.

With a low rocker and flatter deck, the ZIP paddles effortlessly and gets up to speed quickly—perfect for those looking to maximize their fun in knee-high to slightly overhead waves. The fuller down rails add volume and forgiveness, while a bump in the outline helps loosen the board for tighter turning. The board’s unique “Squalow” tail (a blend between squash and swallow) and exaggerated vee through the corners provide great release and flair off the end of your ride.

Its bottom contour—flat into a soft double concave, finishing with vee—favors long, stylish floaters, fast trimming, and smooth, classic lines, but still has enough edge for modern performance moves.

Pros:

* Excellent paddle power and early wave entry
* Loosens up well despite fuller rail and low rocker
* Retro feel with functional modern updates
* Great option for style-oriented or cruisy surfers in small surf

Cons:

* Not ideal for vertical, high-performance surfing
* May feel skatey or tracky in steeper, hollower waves

Summary:
The ZIP is a blast from the past with just enough modern DNA to keep things sharp. It's fast, loose, and stylish—perfect for down-the-line surfing, stylish floaters, and trimming in small-to-mushy conditions. For surfers chasing speed, retro lines, and max fun, the ZIP delivers with flair.
