Gio

The Gio, introduced in 2014, is a modern fish that takes inspiration from the Gipos but adds a bit more volume and stability. With fuller rails and a flatter deck, the Gio paddles easily, holds speed through flat sections, and allows for smooth, fast transitions—ideal for groveling in everyday surf.

Designed to be ridden as a quad with a swallow tail, the Gio offers the glide and acceleration of a traditional fish but with enough bite to push through turns when the opportunity arises. It’s especially well-suited for small, weak surf, but holds its own up to head-high when the waves have a little more punch.

Pros:

* Fuller rails and flat deck = better paddle power and float
* Quad fin setup delivers speed and looseness
* Swallow tail enhances control and pivot in turns
* Excels in 1 ft to head-high surf, perfect for groveling

Cons:

* Less suited for vertical or top-to-bottom surfing
* Fuller rails may feel less sensitive in steeper waves

Summary:
The Gio is a lively, user-friendly small wave groveler built for fun, flow, and fast lines. A perfect option for surfers seeking a performance-minded fish that doesn’t sacrifice volume or wave-catching ability. Whether you're zipping through summer slop or carving clean walls, the Gio makes average sessions feel electric.
