Fast, precise, and powerful—The Peregrine is a high-performance shortboard engineered for surfers who want to push their limits in a wide range of wave conditions. Named after the coastal-dwelling falcon known for its blistering speed and sharp maneuverability, the Peregrine is the result of a creative collaboration between Dane Reynolds and Courtney Conlogue, blending technical innovation with raw surfing instincts.

This model is defined by its quad-channel bottom—a design element that amplifies down-the-line speed, traction, and projection. A low entry rocker transitions into accelerated tail rocker, enabling tight, controlled turns and explosive release off the tail. The channels are embedded within a generous single concave that flattens at the tail block, giving the Peregrine a mix of hold and freedom, ideal for rail surfing and sudden transitions.

flat deck profile and round, medium-to-full rails provide a positive flex pattern and well-balanced volume distribution, giving the board a stable, responsive feel underfoot. Because of the increased foam carried in the deck, Channel Islands recommends ordering the Peregrine 1/8" thinner than your standard shortboard thickness to maintain a familiar feel.

Ridden at your height or a few inches longer for more serious surf, the Peregrine is also versatile enough to be sized down slightly for small wave shredding when ordered wider. It's available only as a thruster, and all models feature four channels—a bold performance feature not often found in modern stock boards.

Pros:

  • Blazing Speed: Channels and low center rocker create unmatched drive and projection.

  • Extreme Control: Accelerated tail rocker and channel release make it great for big rail turns and quick transitions.

  • Flat Deck Feel: Enhanced flex and paddle power without excess volume in the rails.

  • Versatility: Works well from waist to ceiling high surf, adaptable for both power and performance surfing.

Cons:

  • Channels Require Precision: Less forgiving for beginners or sloppy footwork—this board rewards accuracy.

  • Thruster Only: No fin versatility if you're looking to experiment with quads or twins.

  • Custom Thickness Sizing Required: Ordering 1/8” thinner than usual may feel unfamiliar to some.

Final Verdict:
The Peregrine is a standout shortboard for surfers seeking speed, grip, and release in a single design. Its four-channel bottom and finely tuned rocker profile offer serious drive and explosive performance, all while retaining an accessible, all-around feel in a range of conditions. If you want a board that accelerates like a falcon and turns heads with every carve, the Peregrine is your next performance predator.
